just wanna check something, mate online has a computer and wants to upgrade memory.
system is : E-machines intel celeron 2.4gig, 512ddr, 80gb hd with a 256mb graphics card
memory currently in according to CPU-Z - pc2100 (133mhz) with 1 slot free
motherboard is trigem computer inc/imperial
from what i can find out about the motherboard its just 184 pin DDR so shouldnt be a problem fitting (none of this RDRAM rubbish)
I suggested he got hold of another PC2100 512mb stick like the following.
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/33112
i realise that the new stick shows 266mhz but shouldnt be a problem should it? will basically run at speed of the slower memory stick.
He aint a gamer or anything he was just after making the machine a little faster, this all stemmed from an interest in overclocking which i kinda warned him against, didnt think he would get much out of that MOBO and CPU
