New Mobo|CPU, Good to plug n play?

I'm buying a new motherboard and CPU, i want to get an AM3 Motherboard that supports my current components.

And add a Phenom II X4.

When i get these, will i be able to just transfer my current hardware to the new Motherboard and pop the CPU in and i'll be good to go?

It almost sounds to good to be true.

I'm hoping its just as easy as swapping the motherboard and Cpu, and just plugging in my HD, Memory, Disc Drive, PSU, fans and i'll be good to go.

let me know if i will need to do more though please
 
It is that easy if everything else is compatible with your new motherboard, but we can't know that unless you list all the specs including the specs of the new motherboard.
 
you will most likely need to reinstall your os, unless you do some of the tricky things to uninstall all of the motherboard drivers.

Well if you plan on using your DDR2 memory you will need to get a AM2+ board that supports AM3 processors. AM3 boards are DDR3.

This is the exact thing i'm looking to buy.

The motherboard is a DDR2 board, that supports the Phenom II X4.

so unless there will be problems with my hard drive (has win XP 32bit) reading the new hardware, i should be good to go right?

Will there be stuff i have to do BEFORE i start swapping the parts?

and if i have to reinstall my OS, When, and how during the process of swapping the parts do i do this? (after i swap the new parts, will it prompt me to reinstall?)

(Doing my best to figure this out on my own, but it's reassuring to here from people that have done this before)

If your trying it with the old install. Before you swap everything out, uninstall all your old drivers. Hope for the best when you boot up after the swap, if it doesnt boot you can run a repair install. then install all your new drivers. Probable will have to reactivate.

Its always better to do a clean install.
