I have a new Mobo in the mail. I was wondering how I could get the old Motherboard drivers off my hard drive and be able to install the new one.

My idea was to get a new hard drive and start the build with that, then wipe the old drive through the comp.

But, i don't have another hard drive..

Any ideas?

You will have to back up all your important data onto another drive and then do a fresh install of windows since you have a new motherboard to deal with.

that's what I thought, thank you

Edit: Am I able to load the OS and have it format the drive through the install process?

You should be able to format it, yes.

Do you still have the install disk for your OS? If so, yo may be able to attach the new OS, boot from the install disk, and use the repair function to transfer your old install to the new mobo. You might have to reactivate Windows.

Of course, a fresh install of windows is never a bad thing.

True, probably will be good for my comp. a lot of junk on it. Thanks, it helped a lot.
