new monitor for text

I have bought 2 monitors one that was a LCD with LED backlighting and the other was a LCD. Hooked them up both side by side and with no adjusting the LCD looked brighter . The LCD's text was very sharp and clear.
The LCD was hooked up with a DVI cable and the LCD/LED was hooked up with a HDMI cable and the letters looked fuzzy and there was no fixing, I have tried for a week and a half. Using every option from windows 7 and ATI/AMD Catalyst whatever and the letters were still light in color and blurry with the HDMI cable.
I kept the monitors up side by side and switched the cables DVI and HDMI from one monitor to the other and when I did I suprised to find out that the DVI cable connection had very clear and sharp text on the other monitor. The HDMI on both screens had fuzzy text. After researching for the last week and a half there was a lot of complaints on the net about windows 7 and fuzzy text so I thought I would pass this along. If its text your after use a DVI cable and videos and games HDMI.

If this is a serious post; then please supply the reputable websites that state this "fact".

Even though you Googled (or Binged) and came up with a few sites that claim Windows 7 and HDMI are at fault for fuzzy text, absolutely does not even make it remotely true. Did you find this issue on an official Microsoft Windows site? Probably not.

More likely issues: 1) bad graphics unit, 2) bad HDMI cord 3) wrong resolution on both monitors (most likely).

You realize that HDMI and DVI are essentially the same thing; they both use the same encoding scheme (that's why a DVI source can be connected to an HDMI monitor, or vice versa, with a DVI/HDMI cable, with no intervening converter box) the key difference being: HDMI carries audio, and-more obviously-the pins are different, thus proving this text vs. gaming theory is completely false.

Also, I know this isn't true, because I don't have this issue with my rig.

So, in conclusion, I believe there is something else in the mix causing interference with your HDMI scheme. You should not be able to notice a difference between HDMI and DVI.

Could be some thing else in the mix, I never claimed to be a expert just passing along what I noticed. I bought two Samsung monitors one LCD and one LCD with LED backlighting being the only difference. I bought a ASUS LCD/LED about 2 weeks ago and had terrible problems with fuzzy text so I ditched that and got the other 2 in search of a monitor I can use for school(text priority). Out of the box with no adjustments at all to the monitors themselves , out of the box, on the desk, side by side. I hooked both up with different connections, the HDMI cable hook up looked the same to me as the ASUS I returned , fuzzy and light text. The other with the DVI connection had clear and sharp text, period... (no adjusting to the monitors) I changed connections from the unadjusted monitors and the monitor that had clear and sharp text now hooked up with the HDMI cable looked as bad as the ASUS monitor I returned back , and it clearly looked sharp (TEXT) 5 minutes before. Just that alone leads me to believe its the connection. Maybe windows 7 is preferring one connection of the other for text, I dont know.

Here is what I got when I Googled fuzzy text with windows 7. I read at least all of the first 2 pages and adjusted everything possible.

While DVI and HDMI are technically the same, HDMI can have scaling issues especially with AMD cards.

Try using a DVI cable to connect and see if the picture differs at all.

Yes, thats what I did with no other adjusting and the text is clearer with the DVI cable, all other thing equal with MY SETUP.

It is weird that the HDMI cable is causing fuzzy text. However, it's not a Windows 7 issue, and it's not an HDMI issue (unless the cord is defective). Most likely, as stated in my previous post, and in linkin's post, there's an issue with your graphics unit. If AMD has issues with their graphics cards and HDMI, then that's with AMD. But DVI is not better than HDMI is in any way, shape, or form. I'm only stressing this because I don't want peeps getting confused when they browse through this thread, and think that DVI is superior in some way to HDMI, because HDMI is normally a very simple and effective way of visual and audio transmission, as DVI normally does not carry audio.
