looking on selling my dell 22 and getting a hdmi gaming monitor my uncle has recommended the view sonic. What do you think is a good monitor ?
are you after a dedicted hdmi tft screen, or an lcd tv ?
asus is a very good brand in general especially for motherboards so the quality should be good, at the moment im using a 22in lg flatron tft
yeah my screen runs ok not hdmi though, need upgrade but im building new sandybridge pc this week so cant afford a new screen, at moment i have nvidia geforce 9600gt
The Asus is decent, the rest are pretty 'budget' (to put it nicely). These days you should really be looking for a monitor that can support 1920x1080 at least.
For a bit cheaper you could also have something like this, which is very similar to the Asus, same resolution, same response time, same screen size.
Samsung 24inch
My mate has the same series monitor (just a size smaller I believe) and, following Samsung tradition, it looks damn sexy.
Samsung-BX2350 23" LED backlit
Just noticed that, wasn't sure if you were interested in LED or not. The title says 5ms, but the product description and most other monitors in that series are 2ms, so I think it's an error in the title, but not exactly sure, you might want to do a bit of digging. I have it's bigger brother the BX2450 and it's awesome![]()

The LED looks absolutly sexual, and will probably surfice for the next couple of years
P.S I've had an ASUS for the pas couple of years and I also used it for my Xbox monitor for a whileIts also fair sexual

Mmmm, you just can't compare that to a LG or viewsonic.
I was tossing up between the BX2450 and an Asus Vsomething24somethingH (can't remember the exact model number), I went with the Samsung obviously, but maybe the Asus is worth having a look?
I ca't find the exact one I was looking at, it was a while ago, but here looks like a pretty decent Asus monitor: Asus-VH232T-23-inch
Or if you're willing to pay an extra 30 pounds for another inch (heh, if only other things were that easy):
Asus VH242H
Anyway, you have to be the one who stares at it all day, so I would recommend just looking around for something that you like.
