hey guys i just got a new monitor, a sonicview with the optimum resolution at 1680 x 1070 but when i got home... i can't seem to adjust the resolution to that..is it because i need a new video card? and if that...wat card should i get?

That was one thing to look at when deciding on what resolution you were planning to run. Now you have to go over the specifications on several cards to find one that will support the higher res there. What kind of price range are you able to spend on a replacement card?

my budget would be 100...anything under 100 would be good...if thats possible

With most new cards, you will be able to make custom resolutions. On mine, i had to make the 1440X900 resolution supported by my monitor.

When you click on the link for each one that opens another page for that one alone. You simply scroll down the page to go through the information provided by the vendor. For instance the MSI Radeon X1600 Pro seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127201 supports resolutions upto 2560x1600 when scrolling down to the "general" section. That there is higher then what you are looking for.
