Hey I have posted on this website before about another issue I had about having a broken graphics card which is related to this thread as well.
Basically my computer I have now well a few months back it started to making beeping noises and then it woudn't connect to the monitor. I took it to a computer store and they said it was the graphics card that was the issue.
Bought a new graphics card (big upgrade) and also a power supply as the one I had was to weak so to speak.
Install it all and still no connection to the monitor. And its not the monitor thats the issue (tried other monitors).
So yesterday I took it to a new computer repair shop and they said they took a look at it. Just rang and told me today that its the motherboard and it needs to be replaced. However they don't make the motherboard I have anymore so will cost £80 to replace and fix etc.
Now I was going to upgrade my cpu and motherboard anyway about christmas time so I don't see the point in wasting £80 for something going to upgrade in a couple of months.
So thats leaves me at this stage. I need a new cpu and motherboard and RAM.
I am interested in the Intel 1.5 2500k and a motherboard that works with this. My budget is -£400 so anything under that is ok.
Just wondering if buying a whole new computer minus the power supply and graphics would be cheaper.
I have also looked at a few motherboard bundles but when you price most of them up you can buy the items cheaper.
1. Here is a bundle but as I said can get parts cheaper seperately.
2. This is more expensive but after pricing the items up buying them seperately it was £320 or something so much cheaper.
Can anyone recommend a good motherboard that goes with the intel 1.5 2500k? as I said I found all the items in bundle 2 for £320 so if you could either find a cheaper mb or one that was like £10 more but was better or whatever. And if there is one with like wireless built then I be willing to pay like an extra £20.
Also do I need to buy my own cpu cooler not sure what this and how expensive is that. Because no1 bundle comes with cpu cooler and so in the end may be cheaper if say a cpu cooler cost £70.
Here is the items seperately from bundle 2:
CPU
motherboard
CPU from overclockers like £3 cheaper than the cconline.
Motherboard from bundle 1 is cheaper though not sure which one is better bundle 1 or bundle 2 mb.
Ram doesn't matter I know its just DDR3 I need.
What does the sandybridge mean ?
I am not that good with computers as well so may need things explaining to me in simple terms.
Anyway this is my system at the moment:
Here is what I have now:
Case: ANTEC 900 BLACK GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU): Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 (3.00GHz) 1333MHz FSB/6MB L2 Cache
Motherboard: ASUS® P5Q: DDR2, SATAII, PCI-e x16, 3 PCI, 2 x PCI-e x1
Memory (RAM):4GB CORSAIR XMS2 800MHz
