new motherboard problems

I got the parts for a new build yesterday. I tried all kinds of stuff, but couldnt get it to boot properly, and occasionally when I could, I couldn't get any video. I finally got it to boot properly. Do you think I should RMA it anyway to avoid any future problems (this build is for someone else).

I honestly, just let it sit exactly how it was the last time it wouldn't boot. waited roughly an hour, and tried booting it. Since then, I haven't had any trouble besides finding the right driver that windows 7 installer is asking for

Can you please explain your situations in detail.I got really confused over BBM.
That what you tried out and what you didn't and what all worked and what all didn't.:(:(
I got so confused over the BBM.I don't think it is the best way to solve or communicate a problem

I tried every combination of hardware that would allow a normal pc to at least boot up. the only thing I didn't remove is the processor.

What was giving me problems was the gpu. When I took it out and left it overnight it booted fine. then I put the gpu in and it wouldn't boot again. I took it out, left it for an hour, and it booted. Put the gpu in, and it wouldn't boot. Left it for another hour. now it works fine.

Try putting the GPU in your PC and booting.
If it works perfectly then it is definitely the CPU or the Motherboard.
CPU is very rarely bad.

Got all the stand offs in the case? If all else fails try building the machine outside of the case so you can easily access everything.

So it is now working correctly WITH that gpu in?

Can you please clarify what Motherboard, GPU, and PSU you are using?

..actually, the more info we have about your hardware, the more we can help.

haha my question really was just, would you guys go ahead and RMA it. like I said before I've build several computers, and I understand the steps to troubleshooting issues. I'm just concerned that after not being able to boot no matter what I tried, it just starts working.

Well ya, we need info so that we can assist in diagnosing the defective part. If it is infact defective, then you should rma it. If it isnt, then your just gonna waste your time trying.
