New motherboard won't go past the logo

Hey guys, I just purchased a new ASUS M4A785T-M mobo. Also bought an AMD Athlon dual-core CPU and a 2GB DDR3. Mobo has an on-board video adapter.

I powered it up for the first time and monitor displayed, "Loading ASUS Flash..." and then the screen went blank. I waited for a few minutes and nothing changed. Reset the PC and same result for 2-3 times. 4th time I tried again and this time motherboard logo came up with the option to press delete to enter setup etc. When I press DEL to enter setup, nothing happens and the logo stays on the screen. Rebooted again a few times to the same result. Then next reboot, I only saw green vertical lines on the monitor. Rebooted again and the logo was back. I am kinda stuck at this point. What do you guys suggest it could be an issue with?

Please advise.

Regards,
Ricky

What memory and processor are you actually running? Also what power supply are you using?

first thing i always do when i do a installation of a new mainboad, is clear the bios, have you done this yet? something in the mainboard may be set to not use the onboard video, im assuming your connecting to the board using the onboard and not a discrete card.

mobo issues

As weird as it may sound, I think the problem is fixed. I have done numerous reboots since and everything seems to be working fine. I think there is definitely something wrong with the Zantec PSU. The molex connector I was using to power the CDROM drive was not providing the drive with power. So I decided to try another molex connector from a different group of wires from the same PSU. That worked! Then I also flipped the POWER_LED connector as it didn't have the + or - marked so I was not sure which one is which. Powered the computer up and everything was back to normal. I don't know if it was changing the cable out of the CDROM drive or flipping the POWER_LED connector, but it's fixed now.

Thanks for your replies. It's always something new.
