New OS

I read this earlier, and I skimmed over one of those articals and I STILL can't beleive it. So will MacOS now be totally x86 compatable? Wow, that's just weird.

And, here's what's more odd... Macintosh was suppose to be one of the fastest machines around BECAUSE OF THEIR HARDWARE! One of my friends was a die hard mac fan because of how much better the G4 was than X86 processors at that time(this was a while back, mind you :P) Now, it's just like...what's the point?

It also makes you wonder about older software. Will older programes will work the same with this new version of their OS? I could see some incompatability issues in their future.

This merge should be intersting ;) I just hate they chose Intel over AMD!
 
Thats pretty sweet, I would trade windows for Mac OS, assuming my software and all would be compatible. It would be like running an AMD PC as a macintosh.

I think they might have been going more for the multitasking/crazy graphical editing side instead of the gaming side. Cause really, when have macs ever been used as gaming machine.
 
the reason they are going with intel is becuase the powerpc has reached the limit of speed. At the speed it is at now it is running hot. really hot. the G5 will not go in to a laptop. ever.
