hi,

this is what i've got so far....

AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ Socket 939
GIGABYTE K8NF-9 nForce4
TwinMOS 1GB DDR-400 Dual-Channel Kit
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB 7200RPM SATA 8MB HDD
MSI NX6600GT
Sony 1.44 Floppy Drive
NEC 3520A(dvd-rw)
LG GDR-8163B(dvd-rom)
Thermaltake 420W purepower
Silverstone SST-TJ04
AOC 17" Flat screen CRT

it comes to around 1400 USD
and my max is around 1450
the computer will be used for photoshop cs, cad 05,HL2,doom3 and other games as well as office 2003.

any opinions before i buy?(building it)

I think thats a little pricey, if you are good at building computers, i would check www.newegg.com for the parts. I'd say you could get that for around $1000 or less.

yea...i do live in nz...so shipping from newegg....
it comes to around 2000 NZD so around (.73) =1460usd

i was going to get a amd 3500+ and a cheap case bout 70usd
but a friend of mine said to get the 3200+ and get a better case with good cooling since my computer is always on.
i'm getting all my parts from http://www.qmb.co.nz
and...what do u mean by spending the money to upgrade the hardrive...
more gig's or a raptor ?
oh, and i haven't ordered the parts yet...

newegg dont ship internationally anyway, which is a shame. theres not really anything wrong with the hard drive, maybe a little bigger would be nice, but its not a priority. you got a very nice computer there
