New PC. Let me know what you think.

Also, are there any manuals I can download on how to assemble a computer? I sort of built my brother's computer, but not from scratch. I don't want to spend $1600 on this thing and screw up when im putting it together.

why did u create another post?

well neways,
get a different psu, the antec neoseeker 480 should do
how good of sound do u want? if u want it to be good then get an audigy 2 zs

and why are u going intel, i thought that u were using it for gaming?

AMD is better for gaming, but a 550j is a speed beast, and no need to overclock, because it's running at 3.4 Gigas.

That Chaintech soundcard might not last you too long, I had one for three months before the sound quality was horrible.

A few things of interest
1. You may consider a different motherboard. Epox isnt exactly a solid and reputable brand.
2. LiteOn, while they make excellent CDburners and DVDroms and stuff. Ever since the 1673 DVDburner things havnt been up to their usual standard (and there isnt a real reason to buy an older drive). You can get a NEC 3520 for roughly the same price of a 3540 for $10 or so more.
3. An X600 card isnt a serious gaming card and will end up being the bottleneck. At the very least, bump it up to a X600XT (or X700Pro) for an extra $15 or even a 6600 class card for an extra $25

well, my friends have intel and they run games better than my AMD. plus, i do occasional media editing stuff so i figured why not go with intel.

what motherboard do you recommend?

how about an ASUS:

That a good board or for just a little bit more you can get the model above it.

ASUS P5WD2 Premium Socket T Intel 955X

Both are good boards . I think with the secound one you could up your memory to ddr2 800 if you wanted to.

Also do you really have any need for 4GB of ram. If you do fine but most people dont need that much ram.

I still think the extra $200 you save in getting 2gb instead of 4gb would be better spent getting a awsome graphic card instead of the x600pro.
