What kind of performance expectation do you have?

Yeah, 32 GB is generally a waste unless you have a very specific use-case. You can always buy more later if your utilization somehow ends up on the 85%+ range.
 
The most computer intensive tasks I'll be doing are 3D rendering, gaming, and malware research using VMware. Everything else would be considered regular computer use. Ideally I would like to run a triple or quad monitor setup just like I have at work. I only have 2 monitors right now though so its not a priority.
