This morning I recieved a phone call from a lady who went to turn her computer on this morning and there was no lights nothing coming from the tower. I took the risk/chance and purchased a new PSU on the way to her house and luckily it paid off as it was the Power supply that had died and not anything else (motherboard, CPU, Ram, HDD etc).
Taking the risk that it was the Power supply that had died proved to be a great decision as this saved me plenty of time and it was just a case of removing the old PSU and putting in the New PSU.
This got me thinking have you ever had someone explain to you their computer problem e.g over the phone and you working it out just from what they are telling you. Then it was just a case of picking up the faulty part and replacing it.
