i added a new and stronger power supply (old one making too much noise) and at first the desktop was taking a while to come on, then it lock up. After leaving it alone, it got going...but now it is acting up, during routine operation it lock up and then start up again. Like it freeze up, then gets going again. I didnt touch anything else juse remove the Power and added the new one. I did try to do a search before i ask this question, but the search, isnt working. thanks for any infor

Try another power supply, perhaps another brand. I have found some power supplies that certain motherboards don't like. It's weird, I know, but that would be my guess.

Antec is very universal from my experience. I have a 500w Smartower PSU in my Dell 3100 and a EarthSmart 430w in my old Gateway.

Sorry for getting back to you guys so late, has to run out of town...But Computer is still doing the same and even got worst. When i try to start it up, Long time...and lots of locking up. The power suppy that was in it "Just Pc (usa) inc JPC 500watt. I put in a "Antec smartpower 2.0 500watts dual fan. The spec are (Harddrive) WD Caviar 250GB ATA HD 7200/8MB/ATA-150

I will open it back up, and check the cables but i don't think that is it. When i got it going it has the Microsoft window XP on top, (in dos) and it did say " Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Statue Bad, Backup and replace......Could my HD gotten ruin some how....I can still get into programs, but it take a long time. And i am afraid to shut it down........I am backing everything up, just incase. Is there anything else i should try....Thanks again for any info and i should be able to get back online. I just got laptop for work, and will try and back everything onto it.....Thanks again for any more infor....
