why is the cpu at the bottom and not under a fan?

that fan pointing upwards is the CPU fan. underneath that fan is a heat sink, which draws heat from the CPU. the fan then pulls the heat off the heat sink.

are mobos that big?!? I didnt think so But I need to know how to get it out...

i'm not sure what you mean, that's a typical mobo size. if you want to take it out, you'll have to take out most of the components, and then unscrew it from the case. it's fairly straight forward.

I know it was just surprising to see that when all the other computers I have seen on this site look how to put it.. "not like this one"

anyways, could you maybe put up or direct me onto how to dissasemble everything?

it looks like there are just Phillip head screws there. just start unscrewing everything from the motherboard, and then unscrew the motherboard from the case. make sure you're touching the case when you pull the components out, so you don't create a static shock, as many of these things are static sensitive.

what are the current specs? and what are you looking to do?

I'm just looking to replace the mobo, the mobo is broken, the mobo needs to be replaced....

also the computer is unusable so I cant find out the specs.

ok basically this is my first time ever braking into a pc, I have basically no knowledge of how to do this stuff right now... Although I really want to know because It is slowly becoming a passion, this is just gonna be a work computer because I am building a gaming rig

i don't know how else to explain it, other than start unscrewing the components. once they are all out, you can unscrew the motherboard from the case. make sure you unplug all molex cables from fans, and all of the other PSU cables.

that makes sense, I also need to know if I buy another mobo will all the components like the exit ports for vga sound and whatnot fit the back case? or will I have to do some modding?

they should fit, just make sure that you get a MICROatx mobo, by the looks of ur case, a an atx would not fit.

The new motherboard should have came with an I/O port to put on the back of the case so the vga, sound, usb ports all match up. If it didn't, you will need to find one that matches up to the new motherboard.

new problem, I was taking out the harddrive screws and there are two on the other side of the case... how the heck am I supposed to get to a side that cant be opened...

nevermind about the HD I got it out, my problem now is with the heatsink, I go the fan off of it but the heatsink doesnt want to come off, I unscrewed everything but it feels like its glued on or something.

Do not forcibly pull up on the heatsink, you will end up pulling processor out of the socket and possibly damaging it. Slowly turn it if possible to release the thermal paste but do not pull up on it.

argh, I can only twist it about 2 degrees each way there is this stupid plastic thing I cant get out restricting my movement.

Is it a retention piece to hole heatsink in the socket? If so, you will have to remove it.
