New processor?

[cap123]

Can anybody please tell me a fast but not too expensive processor to renew a 3-year old Dell Dimension E310??? I am sort of looking for something under $225. Thanks to all people that reply, because I do not know anything about what processors are compatible and what processors aren't.

Daisymtc is right, I upgraded from a E310 in February to the system in my sig, and pretty much the only way you can upgrade the CPU is to upgrade the mobo.

Because the motherboard in a dell most likely wouldnt support that to begin with, and the 915 chipset doesnt support anything above pentium 4(nothing dual core/quadcore is supported on i915).
