New psu and wont turn on

So I installed new psu and am pretty sure that I hooked everything back up. But now my computer wont turn on. When I hit the power button on front of computer, the fans go on but nothing happens. Can anyone help me out.

Did you plug in the 4/8 pin CPU power connector?

Umm not quite sure. I have the 24pin plugged into mobo and then what I am pretty sure is the cpu fan cord plugged in below it. But if the cpu power one is the other braided cord then no it is not. My mobois the p5ql. Could you tell me if the cpu slot is in the corner by the back panel?

Its the white 4 pin connector above and to the left of the CPU bracket.

This may sound dumb but make sure your PSU is switched on. Sometimes it's something really simple like that. Also you could try a different power cable from the wall to the PSU.

If the PSU was switched off the fans would not start up.

are you refering to this as the cpu slot?

Yes. Its the CPU power connector. You should have a lead coming off the power supply to plug into it.
