New quad/tri or graphics card?

Hello. I've been thinking for so long that I want a new graphics card and a new PSU, but a quad or tri core CPU would be nice too, instead of the graphics card.

The thing is I don't have that much money right now, I only have enough for the PSU and the graphics card (or) CPU.

My spec right now is:
300W PSU
Nvidia geForce GT220 1GB
AMD Athlon II x2 240 2.8ghz


I game a lot. What is the best option to make?

If you say you only have enough for a PSU and GPU/CPU then I would go with a PSU and GPU

A Dual core isn't ideal for gaming, but you will see much more improvement with a new graphics card than you will with a new CPU. But as was asked, it depends on your budget.

What you can try doing though, depending on what motherboard you have, if it has ACC you can potentially unlock the 3rd or even 4th core of your CPU to get a tri or quad core processor. If it turns out you have bad cores and that is why they were shut off, you lose nothing, you just don't gain anything. If you get them unlocked though, you essentially have a x3 425 or x4 630 at no extra cost

Wow, didnt know that. That would be ****ing awesome.
How do I check if I have ACC? Does it say on the mobo?

You can read about my PC model on the link below but I'm not sure it says if it has ACC or not

If that's the case, and as you say I should get PSU and GPU, then I won't bother about the CPU
 
As it is OEM, you won't be able to unlock the cores because the BIOS is locked on such systems, so unfortunately, you can't do that

The BIOS is locked on OEM systems, so you can't overclock or use any other features like ACC
