New RAM; Computer won't start

I've read a problem similar to this one on the ASUS forums, apparently the USB drive shouldn't be larger than 8GB and should only contain 1 partition. One user managed to have his USB drive recognized when formatting the drive with FAT16 (as apposed to FAT32). You could also try a different USB port on the PC and see if that works.

EDIT: sorry, the user solved the problem by creating a FAT partition on the HDD rather than using a USB stick.

That explains it. This thing is 32GB, haha. Will find a smaller one, try again and report back.
 
The RAM might be bad. Try sending it back to Newegg.com. Make sure you can still return it. They will give you an RMA (Returned Merchandise Authorization). Ask them for 2 new sticks.
 
I wouldn`t recommend doing from hard drive, will only confuse you more as it will be mixed in with other files.

Does the bios not pick up the flash drive at all, even in the drives section ?

Theres a drives section? I just go into EZ and then theres the menu with the selections at the bottom right. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.
 
Yes if you enter the bios by pressing either delete key or f2, look for section in the bios where you set boot order, it will list all drives detected if your flash drive is there then it is certainly being picked up.
 
Ensure the USB drive is inserted into the motherboard directly and not a USB hub on the case or elsewhere.
 
If it will boot with the old memory. Go into the bios and manually set the speed/timing and voltage of the new. Save and exit and shut down. Put the new memory in and see if it boots.
 
Update:

So I've googled, researched, the whole 9 yards...I can NOT get my motherboard to recognize my flash drive. I have no clue why its not picking up.

If someone could tell me how to change my RAM settings from the BIOS, that would be great. I mean, my RAM settings are indeed, different from what my motherboard has been running. Could this be causing it to not boot? So if I change the RAM settings from the BIOS it might work correctly?

Any info on that would be awesome.

I'm kind of nervous about flashing my BIOS anyway...I'd rather just get a new MB considering how old this one is. Also, I don't want to risk frying my MB...I've seen several comments on some videos saying that when they updated their BIOS it ****ed up their board.

Yeah, well flashing your bios has its risks but nothing like it used to be. The motherboard will automatically revert to the last known good bios (it has dual bios) if an error occurs, plus as long as it doesn't power down during flashing its very straight forward. It also provides improved stability, including BIOS 0605 which specifically mentions RAM stability. Get a different USB stick and update the BIOS as this is important.

In terms of the RAM you want to go into the manual found here and go to pp. 2-11 and follow that to set it to 1600MHz at 1.65V.

F10 and save and restart.
