i ordered a 1gb pc3200 stick of G.Skill RAM from newegg...now i originally had 2 generic 256mb sticks in my compaq which is pretty new...instead of putting the 1gb g.skill in the 3rd slot i put it in the first...well just cuz i wanted to...shud i not have messed with that? but the problem is when i started up my computer, and after it loaded it showed (not an error) but a message saying (something like this) Data Execution Prevention had to close windows explorer everytime i tried to run anything on my computer and my windows wud reload...but same thing wud happen then too..so i went in to control panel...system...advanced....performance settings....and clicked the Data Execution Prevention tab and clicked Turn on DEP for only essential windows programs and services instead of what was previously selected (Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select).
shud i put the generic 256mb back in the first slot and the 1gb g.skill in the 3rd? does it make a difference which RAM goes where?
