New screen through HDMI looks washed out?

Just upgraded my pc and thought it was time for a new screen to show my new setup

Old Screen was through dvi but this one has HDMI ports only. So i connected Hdmi from my GTX 680 to this monitor.

ALL MY COLOURS LOOK WASHED OUT! i tuned all the settings i could and it just looks BAD.

Is this just me switching to HDMI or is the screen just not good.

Try tweaking the color settings in the nVidia control panel.

yea ive tuned the colours and used full range RGB still looks a vut washed or i dont know what

Just to note.... Games look amazing now that i tried out a game.

But things like this forum and facebook look BAD!! how do i lower whites while keeping blacks

What was your old monitor. I have 2 monitors, a pretty dim LCD screen with no backlight then and LCD with backlight. The color contrast is much sharper on the backlit one. If you're used to a dimmer monitor than the switch may be just something you adjust too. If games look fine I get the feeling that all white screens such as website are kind of dazzling if you're used to a more faded appearance.

Had an LG im pretty sure it was backlit but not with LED, Yeah I finally tuned all the settings to my liking..

But i have a couple pet peeves with this LED monitor... I can change BRIGHTNESS but not the led backlight... I want to dim it down without losing the colour... And number 2 Whites almost look like a blue tinge compared to my old monitor.. But Greens and blues Look AMAZING on this new display .... The blacks arent as dark as the old display though kind of dissapointing



EDIT: BTW did anyone take a peek at my new monitor is it good?? I just love the 24" size and the sleek look of the base... I will trade style in for screen quality though if this one isnt good
