I just built my computer, but when I plug it in and press the power switch, nothing happens. It doesn't show any lights, no fans start...its just dead. The powersupply i'm using was working like 4 hours ago, so nothing should of happend to it.

The setup:
Intel C2D E6550
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
GeForce 8800GTS 320mb
Coolermaster PSU 550w 32amps on the 12v rail
2GB Patriot DDr-800 Ram

Somebody know how i can fix this?

Please someone point me in the right direction! Google isn't giving me any results in relation to my situation. I'm a little desperate.

Well, First off make sure you have all the main connectors in, (HDD LED, RESET SW, PWR, etc) To the right connectors. This could cause system boot failure if they are not in the right pins. Next check to see if your PSU switch is on. Kinda stupid, but you would be amazed on how many people are so excitied to see their new build they for get to switch it on. Next check out your PSU on another motherboard, see if it works. Then check your motherboard on another PSU, if that fails. Report back

You have at least one fan don't you? A case fan (not a cpu fan, but...something like this correct? If so, and even it isn't working...then I think the problem is your PSU.

I know you said that it was working a few hours earlier...but if you're case fans aren't working...I don't know what else could be wrong.

*EDIT* Does your PSU have a switch on it for 110V or 220V?

no power is getting to the motherboard period. I tried the power supply with my previous WORKING motherboard and it got power instantly.l tried another working power supply on the new build and it still wasn't receiving any power. I think the motherboard might be DOA.

you didnt change the cmos jumper or anything did you?
how about any wierd noises at all? any beeps from the board?

or does absoloutly nothing happen? did anything happen the first time at all?

does the power supply have a small red slide button saying 110v / 220v?
which is it set to?
try removing some of the other components and check if the motherboard powers up on its own.
i mean, just connect the power supply and the power led.

can't really hear noises or beeps if the thing isn't even getting power to turn on. It doesn't have the red slide button so it couldn't of changed. I can't change anything because it gets o power at all. And I have been connecting the PSU to just the motherboard and the power switch thing in different ways for the past 2 hours and it still won't get power. Yet when i plug my PSU into my other motherboard, it works fine. So its leading me to believe that its my motherboard.

oh right. it does sound like that yeah.
id say double check all jumper's on the board. incase there is one in a wrong position.

but perhaps it might be best to contact the company you bought it from and see what they say about an rma.
