I know it's a TV, not a Monitor, BUT! Since I will be plugging in my PC on it... i guess it's ok for the post to be here!

I want to buy a new TV for my PS3, PC and Cable TV, I'm gonna plug all in one.

I've been looking to getting a Sony Bravia LCD 40" 1080p (KDL40V2500) going for around $3,299.99 at Best Buy in Toronto:
1. What do you guys think about 1080p?
2. Is it worth it over a 1080i?
2. Any other suggestions?

Your thoughts are much appreciated!

Doesn't have DVI, most HDTVs don't have DVI. There's 2 HDMIs, with a DVI adapter I can plug my PC to it, the other is reserved for my PS3 and the Components are for my 5.1 DVD Player/Receiver. There's also an S-Video for my laptop.

Progressive = 60 frames, interlaced = 30 frames. Better I know, worth it is the question.

Anyone played with them to find a big difference? I need to buy it this weekend, so please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

My parents just bought a 42" 720p TV for $1,300. $3,300 for a 40" 1080p is extremely overpriced.

1080p not being used currently

Currently all of your 720P tvs will handle 1080i. 1080p is very new and is not being utilized in practically anything yet. Settings can be changed to view in 1080i, but all your broadcast will not have a resolution of 1080p, i would personally look for a 720p knowing that it can also be used in 1080i for a lot better price. Hope this helps

A good tv for the ps3 is the panasonic vierra.
