Hello Im Greg, Im new to the computer industry. I want to work and build my own computer in my feature. I am 15 and just looking for help in my small little hobby.


I never owned a computer or laptop. My family always did brother, sister etc recently my mom gave me a computer a it looks like this

It has a sticker that says Dell Intel Inside pentium. How can I find out the specs and all? Also I dont want to run a wired internet connection so i was thinking could i use this Netgear WPN111 USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter - 108Mbps, 802.11g, with RangeMax Technology (Recertified)? Im going to buy it off TigerDirect for just 10$ im not looking to sped alot of money on it. iM just a 15 year old. Also could anyone post some tuts on computers or anything in really new at computers. all i know what to do is use them lol

Those are usually Pentium III or Pentium 4's. However, CPUz will tell you exactly what it's got inside.

As for the wireless card, it should work fine. Perhaps your main limiting factor would be your OS. I've seen some of those with Windows 2000. OS's before XP aren't the easiest to work with wireless.
