I'm in the process of installing a larger SSD in my case. I presently have a 64GB and plan to clone a 128GB to replace it.
My question is, sometime in the next year I plan on a new build. I would like to use that new 128 in it. Would I be able to throw that original 64 back in the box that I'm now using to have a working box till the new build is complete?

I would always recommend installing from scratch on an SSD. Also make sure SATA in your BIOS is set to AHCI for best performance.

But yeah, so long as you don't delete anything, it will work as it did before you cloned it.

Correct. A fresh install of Windows will have better performance over a clone.
