New system help!!

Hello Everyone,

Ive recently been upgrading my pc and bought a new motherboard. (asus pk53 deluxe) and new cpu (intel q6660 quad core)

after i did this i realised i needed to buy new memory so got (4x 1g corsair ddr3)

now i realise there is no agp slot for my old graphics card and need a new one.. pci express x 16 i think

so heres where i was lookin for help.

what should i get.

cos well i can afford it and it looks no bad....its a crossfire so i could insert two of them i think

what would be the advantage of having two of these cards and is this a wise option.

Personally, i would buy a card that is the same price as both of them together, as im pretty sure that it would be more powerful and would also leave room for expansion of another card when you need to.

Well actually that was my plan.

Due to the unforseen cost of buying ddr3 memory i was lookin to only spend like 50 quid ish the now!!!

i was only going to buy one of them cards just now then future maybe another of the same....

i was wondering tho....what does having two graphics cards in your machine actually do!!!

that card is a low end card now. you wouldnt get very far using 1 or even 2 of them if you wanted to play on a very high setting with the likes of crysis.

what made you buy ddr3 in the first place?

errr just a mistake...

never really checked the memory requirements when buying the new motherboard.

i mean previously i have a radeon 256mb 9600 or sumfin before so surely its gonna be better than that....

not really a gamer so no need for something super special.....do alot of 3d design tho so need something ok!!!
 
what to do?

ive got a intel quad core Q6660 on a asus pk53 deluxe motherboard with 4gig ddr3 ram...

what do you suggest then i really want to spend between 50 and 100 quid for just now cos im skint but need to get this beast running as have no home pc the now.

tho i can always buy a second card later and run the two of them...

any suggestions as what to get cos i dont have a clue with graphics cards??

ha i thought u said cpu not psu....idiot!!

yeah think ill need to look at htis also....i've only got a 450w psu..

is this gonna cause problems??

It's a lower end of my card. You can definitely get something better these days.

That's a nice set up you've got there... Now we just need to get your a graphics card!

So, around £50? Are you sure you couldn't push it a little?

Would kick some serious ass! For gaming, general use and 3D Design work... 3DS Max, or Maya, right? :)

Anyway... If you were to buy two of the X1650's it'd be the same price and one hell of a lot better! ;)
