Im sorry if i affended anyone, I wasent trying to I was just stating what I had heard from all my coworkers, Also my mother was going to buy a computer from dell that said it was vista compatable so I told her what I heard, so she called up dell and asked them they told her when vista came out she would have to upgrade her hard drive for an extra $150 bucks to run it. So from the horses mouth. why dont you call microsoft and ask...dont be so cockey we all can be wrong from time to time and technology changes...All with love to my fellow computer nerds=-)

Some more Dell crapola just to sell a hard drive. If the system comes with an 80gb drive in it they'll simply swap that one for the identical make and model with Vista running on it instead. They don't want to spend time wiping XP off of the drive on the model system your mother would have bought. Some sales person sold that load of #&%#@! there. What most still don't realize is that newer hardwares come out far sooner then newer operating systems. What that means is that the hardwares are already ahead of Vista!
