New TF2 item/weapon system revealed

New medigun is called the Critzcrieg, which boosts chance of a crit hit. It's unlocked after gaining 24 of the new medic achievements. After getting 12, the medic will have the option to choose a new syringegun, one that drains health. After getting all 36 of the new achievements, you'll unlock the ubersaw. It coverts melee damage into an ubercharge for either medigun.

That's not even the coolest part, over the next year all the classes are going to receive a similar weapons overhaul (at the least, not just the medic). Epic.
 
Oh this is going to suck! The game is great as it is and the new game type/map looks rather interesting. But now everyone is going to be running head over heels for all the achievements. Its just going to be like in CSS with the RPG mod. Someone just camps, gets their score up, then uses the power weapons the rest of the round and all the people with low scores can never advance.

Granted, this is valve, and they arnt going to make it too unbalanced/**** it up. We'll have to see. :)
 
This is pretty much my first (and forever favorite) online FPS, so I don't have much experience with things of this sort and what happens post, I just think it sounds awesome. Plus you're right this is Valve, and TF2 is the most balanced game I've ever played. If they screw this up I'll bite of all my toes off one by one. :D

I think it's going to work out fine. At least for the medic. Seeing as playing as a medic is pretty unrewarding right now as you don't rack up points and are taken for advantage. Giving the medic achievements and power weapons will encourage its use and hopefully team play.
