New thermal paste.

Hey guys, my IC7 thermal paste came in the mail today. I've used the whole tube already! Used on both of my CPU's and my graphics card. My current computer seems to be running faster now, i think the CPU was just quickly shoved into the motherboard, because on startup and logon, the task bar would take ages to load properly. now it appears instantly. my anti virus also loads faster and firefox now opens immediately. Could an improper CPU placement cause this?
Anyway, everything is running smoothly so far.

Sounds like the placebo effect to me, because unless you had no thermal paste at all or really crappy stuff and was overheating you wouldnt notice a difference in speed. IC7 raised my temperatures over as5 actually.... And as5 has higher temps than shin etsu that ive used... IMO ic7 is a ripoff.

The only reason that I bought this was to get away from crappy silicone paste.
IC7 is much better, but i will get AS5 later on.

EDIT: when i took out the CPU, i noticed that is was not sitting straight in the socket. i forgot to mention that. it also, under the thermal paste already on it, had a warranty sticker. which i have removed.

Actually i would recommend getting ocz freeze or shin etsu G751(sold under masscool brand on newegg) if you replace thermal compound in the future. IC7 is supposed to be high end stuff but really i havent seen it help temperatures at all. You do know they sell as5 and arctic silver ceramique at radioshack right? Its like $9 and $6 respectively.

I don't kbow how many times i've told people im in australia.
oh well, i just hope newegg ships internationally soon.
