Could we get a new category or a sticky dealing with new products about to be released? with these new 45nm chipsets and new video cards and motherboards comming out soon, it would be great if we had a section that dealt just with new stuff that is about the be released. it's so difficult for the average computer dude like me to keep up with this. i just think it would be a good idea. for example the section would have topics titled "new 780i mobo's out on...." or new "geforce 9 series cards stats" i think it's a good idea.

yeah, thats exactly what i'm talking about. a hardware news thread would be exactly what i'm talking about. who could we talk to get this going?
 
It's a neat idea yeah cause i've been really out of date with regards to video card but then again this is up to the men in the suit and tie :D
 
ok, well let's keep making noise about this and hopefully the powers that be will run with it. it's obvious that a category like this would benefit everyone here on the forum.
 
There are bots out there that will grab the latest news on items on certain topics, for instance computer hardware, and we could have it post in this new category so that it would always be up to date?
 
yeah it would help me having to search through lots of threads to find out stuff..

like when the new gts was to be released. took me a while to get an understanding of it haha.

but how would it work? like a sticky that one member kept up to date?
and might it have an accompanying thread to discuss the new hardware and suggest more?
 
There are really any number of ways we could do it. It could be as general as the category being called New Releases or something. And then the individual threads would be self explanatory. Is anyone in tight with a moderator so we could get this ball rolling?

For example, I didn't even know about the new G92 nvidia cards comming out until I came across a thread by accident. It would be great if we had a section that we could go to every once in a while with updates on new products. It would be great.
 
yeah they will. but the might want the opinion of a few before something like this,

Face it guys, the admin(s) aren't going to do that.

There have been numerous requests to add something to the forum, and overall the forum has remained pretty much untouched since it began in 2003 (except for the off-topic section).

You can create a thread with all the current new happenings and technology, and you may get it to become a sticky if you're lucky, but don't count on it.
 
i just get so frustrated when new hardware hits the market and i don't know about it. for example, i had no idea about the G92 video cards or the new cpu chipset that came out. or for that matter the new 780i mobos. i just wish there was a simple, no nonsence way that when new hardware hits the market it gets posted on here in an organized thread. instead of getting surprised by it in a thread that has nothing even to do with the topic!
 
I would absolutely start these threads myself, but I don't know near enough about computers or even where to look for new products about to be released. The only way I find out about new stuff is when I go over to new egg and sort things by most expensive!
