New to Building - I think I fixed it

HDD: Get 32MB Cache!!

Video Card: When you can get GTS 250 at the same price, why going for 9800GT?

Optical Drive: Go for DVD burner!!

PSU: Raidmax is not a excellent brand for PSU. For $100, you would have plenty of options.

Thank you so much. That helped a lot with my build. Ill post a new link of all the parts once I get them sorted out.

What do you think about this graphics card compared to the one you showed me?

It has a promotional code to so it comes out to $129.99

The case you selected looks cool...but you realize it only has a few 80mm fans. You want your computer to breath easy and not be starved for air. Here is a suggestion for a case.

Here is an Antec 300. This is a great case with great cooling. It is only $54 with free shipping...that's a really good deal:eek:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042

It does not come with the front two 120mm fans...you can grab a set with your favorite color LED fans. A couple 120mm green LED fans would look sick:D

Maybe down the road when you have time and money you can purchase a window kit for the side panel and do some modding;)

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8...l_Window_Kit_396_x_396mm.html?tl=g44c11#blank

In the end ...I think you'll be much better off with this case. Antec makes some of the best cases on the market.

Thanks for all the feedback :D Its the reason I joined these forums, in order to get great help and advise from people like you.

Thanks again

p.s.- Hows the new build

The CPU switch is fine, but you won't get as good frame rates in games like GTA IV. Other than that, nice build!

Awesome, Thank you so much :)

Is the CPU switch bad for games like Warhammer and Wow? I play some FPS's but mostly on my PS3 so it doesn't matter for the genre.

Is the graphics card going to give crisp images? If not can I double it up or add another one of some sort on the Motherboard I selected?

Here are few things to think about...maybe a red theme for the new build;)

1. I would recommend an eVGA GTS 250. The tech support, warranty and the "step up" program is the best in the industry. And the eVGA card is cheaper.

http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=512-P3-1150-TR&family=GeForce 200 Series Family

2. To run most GTS 250 cards you need 24 or 25 amps on the power supply 12v rail. The Sigma power supply you picked only has 20 amps on the 12v rail. Here is a nice 550w modular OCZ Fatality power supply for a great price! And it has pretty red lights:D

3. You may want to read about Seagate hard drive firmware issues. They have released patches to fix most of it up but there are still people having issues out there. Have you thought about Western Digital?

4. Don't forget the fans;)

5. You could save some money with the motherboard. The eVGA is great...but there are really nice motherboards for far less money.

6. What about Keyboard, mouse, monitor and operating system? Do you need these?

Woot! Thank you haha.

Will I be able to double up that graphics card you listed, on the current MoBo I have selected?

Any Idea for a cheaper/better/and still reliable Motherboard?

I like the red idea for the power Supply haha thank you. Is 550W enough for the computer build?

Yes. I have looked into the WD Hard Drive, I forgot to update that one I guess. I have heard it is way more reliable than seagate.

For a monitor I found

Im looking for a 20". A 22" would be even better, but they get a little out of my price range.

No mouse, keyboard or speakers in mind yet =/

Yes...the eVGA 780i will support multiple graphics cards. But...you will have to upgrade the power supply:(

If you really think you want to SLI in the future...might want to stick with the motherboard you have chosen. It is great for SLI:)

550w will be plenty for that build. I run a 650w and I have double what you will have, I have never had a single issue:good:

For $10 more you can have a 21.5 inch Full HD 1080P resolution Asus monitor:eek: I would borrow $10 for that upgrade! But it has a mail in rebate also...assuming that works it will actually be cheaper:) It also has free shipping:D

That monitor almost seemed perfect until i noticed most the reviews said it can't be adjusted up/down or tilted =[ Everyone still gave it a 5 though because it was too good to be true haha.

Any others in mind?

What do you think so far?

The CPU will be ok...of course it will play WoW just fine. The more you pay for a CPU the better and more powerful it will be.

As for the motherboard, if you really plan on going SLI then I would keep what you have. There are some great Intel based chipset motherboards but many do not support SLI. Myself, I don't have the need to or care to run multiple graphics cards. The GTS 250 is basically a repackaged 9800GTX. The GTS 250 will be plenty for WoW.

It's a tough decision...SLI or not? If you choose not then that will expand the choices of motherboards.

Oh...I see you changed to the Quad:eek:

Nice choice!

*****EDIT*****

As far as a sound card goes, many people run them of course. But the top end sound card is really not needed. I spent like $30 on mine and it POUNDS my house with a Logitech 3 speaker system. For $30 the sound quality is great!

Oh no, I havn't changed to the Quad yet. If I can somehow find a cheaper, better, and still reliable Motherboard, Then I will.

=]

I only have experience with Gigabyte and Asus motherboards. There are many other kinds out there (DFI, Foxconn, ECS, MSI, Intel) but I don't know to much about them. There are some members here who run Foxconn motherboards and seem to really like them. Here are a few choices for you.

Both are fantastic motherboards. But they don't support SLI:( One Nvidia card will work great but two of them...no no. These motherboards will support two ATI cards in Crossfire.

A friend of mine runs the Asus P5Q Pro with an Intel Q9300 @ 3.1GHz, 4GB Patriot RAM @ 1200MHz with a BFG GTX 280 and it runs AWESOME! He has actually built a few computers for people and he has put that motherboard in every build.
