hey ive decided to build a computer from scratch but i'm kinda a noob so i need a hand to see if these parts are compatible with each other. any help would be great.

Hmm not a great build. Firstly it sounds like you're trying to put a laptop CPU into a desktop board, that's not going to work. If you want an i7 for that board you need an i7 2600/2600K, 2700K, 3770 or a 3770K, any of those i7s will work, but really why do you need an i7? An i5 2500K or a 3570K would work just fine and would save you money.

Why do you need 16GB of RAM? 8GB is enough.

The 7770 is OK, but a 6850 or a 6870 would be better. The money you save on your RAM and CPU put into a better graphics card. If you can afford it, go 7850.

You don't need a 750W PSU, a Corsair CX 600 will be enough.

The Guardian isn't a great case - has no cable management and is quite old. I'd get a Corsair Carbide 300R or a Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus or something with cable management.

You don't need the sound card.

You need an optical drive, a SATA DVD-RW will be fine.

You need a hard drive, look for a size of 500GB or greater, 7200 RPM and 32MB or 64MB of cache ideally, but 16MB will do.

You need an OS too, if you're using 8GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home will do, otherwise if you're using 16GB, you need Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate.

mainy the reason why i want an i7 with 16gb ram is because i want it to last a while and not get outdated within a few years.

i only took pot luck on both the cpu and power supply.

sorry i failed to mention i already got 2.5tb and windows 7 home, but i can update that to.

Sounds like pretty good stuff, you'll need Ultimate for the 16GB of RAM.

You're going for a 7850 are you?
 
yeah man almost fell out of my chair when i seen the price (it's going to be a project getting all these funds up in itself haha) but it's obviously kick ass!!
