get a core 2 e6300 instead of that proc and get ddr800 for the memory and a ds3 for the mobo

If you live in the US I recommend using newegg.com, they usually have good deals on hardware.

Id go with a C2D if you have the money, but if not that processor should work well as well as the other parts you have, though if you have the extra money get a 7900gs or wait till the 8600 cards come out, which apparently should be soon.

im living in ireland so id have to search uk sites for a good deal id say. irish sites are way overpriced. i worked out for that system above an estimate of around 770 Euro ex. postage.
well i suppose i could strech my budget to around 1000 just about. im sure i could get a better set up for that. i just havent a clue what id be looking for really.
C2D and 7900gs means nothing to me. as i said its my first build. though i do want something decent for the money.

You have picked out DDR memory. Your mother board uses DDR2 800 not DDR 400. Other then that it looks good.

C2D is the Intel Core 2 duo. He wants you to change your Motherboard RAM and Processor to Run Intels Core 2 duo setup

7900gs is a video card by nvidea slightly above yours.

the c2d is one of intels best I like amd myself no offence to anyone but I've heard the c2d are very good if your going with amd may I sugest the msi diamond I use that board and I love it
