Hi, Newbie here, I have a new custom built rig that I use for gaming. The specs are listed below. Hope it makes sense. I've been having issues with my compter taking so long to boot up once it past the sign in screen for windows XP. I'm the only user account on the computer. It takes about 3 full minutes for the computer to be done signing into Windows XP, before I can open any programs up. It runs just fine after it's booted up. Plays all my games, movies, internet files, etc.. flawless. No lag. I tried the disk defrag, disk cleanup, ran a norton internet security check for spyware and viruses (came up clean), and even tried to see if another program at www.pandasoftware.com (another antivirus company that's pretty good) could find any spyware on my computer. Can any of you give me more ideas on what I can check to make the computer boot up faster? I tried running "msconfig" and unselecting everything that would slow down the bootup process, such as AOL IM, etc... Any help or advice for this noob would be greatly appreciated.
