ok im building a new computer with all new parts and was wondering if i can use the window xp cd i bought for my other computer to install to the computer im building now.

In short, yes, you need to buy another copy. I would buy vista for now because it is more "future-proof" then windows xp.

If you have a brain, at all(meaning you have more brian than me) and a flash drive, try Linux, because if you buy a disk you should beable to copy and use it as you please, just not give it out or sell it. That's how music is, if you buy a CD you are legally allowed to copy it to a back up disk, save the song to your computer and upload another copy to an mp3 player.
Too bad I can only load the stupid linux disk and not do much else.
