New Upgrades w00t!

It's actually been almost a year since I upgraded any part of my computer, so yesterday I decided to get some new stuff. I was going for the best components I could, but I didn't want to spend much cash. This is the stuff I bought:

Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 Socket AM2 Motherboard

AMD X2 6000+

2 GB. A-Data DDR2800 RAM

160 GB. Western Digital HDD

I originally wanted to go C2D with the processor, but those were almost double the cost of the X2 6000+, the price was too good to refuse (not to mention im a bit of an AMD fanboy :P). I plan on buying a new graphics card for Christmas, I'm not sure if I want an 8800GTX or a HD 2900XT yet...

Any comments for anything I got would be nice :D

let me know if you like that ram I was thinking about picking some up... I would have gotten the hard drive with the 16mb cache but hey I love western digital either way

Ya I was wondering whether the 8MB cache would make that much of a difference. But 160GB for $50 is an awesome deal, I couldn't pass that one up. I'll let you know if the RAM is good.

Thanks, I'll post up some pics when I put it all together, the parts are arriving Wednesday. The cables in my PC right now are VERY messy :D

Im sure the 6000+ is nice, but i hear the 5600 OC's better, has better voltage and multipliers and is cheaper :P (I hit 3.4 with mine :D)

But then again i dont know... get the 6000 they are the same chip anyway lol

Side by side, the only difference between the 5600 and the 6000 is clock speed, but I'm only going to OC it a little.

Ya I need to post some new pics of my entire setup. I bought a new desk and I'm getting all these new parts, so it's gonna be different from the last time I posted pics of it.

You'll be happy with that chip, especially at that price. That CPU is definitely one of the price/performance champs right now. My 6000 is chewing up everything I can throw at it.

I just ordered some of that A-Data RAM for a new build. Hope we like it. As a matter of fact, I just ordered that same WD HDD too. Nice taste sir.

5600 doesn't oc better, it all depends upon the stepping.
