New version of eVga 680i?!?! sweet

i think the new one fixed the RAID issues, but it doesnt come with the extra SATA cords and such.
is this all? whats the difference?

i found this in one of the reviews. but they had to have changed something... i see that the RAID thing in the specs is different. what does the difference mean?
 
You can get the RAID fix by downloading the newer BIOS from eVGA or nVidia. IMO I would go with the first one, since it's much cheaper.
 
yeah but it doesnt come with all those cables and such. could i have the most recent BIOS link? i dont know which is which
 
p24 is the latest. when you boot up you will see it or else check it out in the system info.

the sata corruption issue is still there after p24 it is the nvida chipset driver. xp doesnt install it by default so dont install it but somehow the vista has those drivers autoloaded so you may need to uninstall it yourself and then install your own.
 
wow the 680i is overrated with these problem risks. just go with a stable ASUS sli board or something. or a DS3.
 
is not just evga boards it has to do with the nvidia chipset. so far i have ironed out all the problems except this constant disk activity of the hdd in vista even if the pc is idled. works fine on xp because i didnt install the drivers so that is left with the nvidia driver that is included in the vista os.

btw i think the evga 680i broke the 3dmark06 benchmark or something i saw it in their site. they got like over 40,000 pts :)

I dont see why everyone thinks badly of the 680i. I've had it without any problems, and most people dont have any problems. Just the select few that use RAID may run into some problems, but nVidia recently made an update for the 680i thats suppose to fix the problem.

evga has a lifetime warranty on the 249.99 mobo so you rma it until you get the working board :D

I dont think badly of it, i love it, i think its an awesome board, hence why im buying one, lol, but its just not so great that im hearing all of this, granted, i shant be using RAID but.... still...
