New Video Card Advice

Well, as of now these are my system specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (socket 939)
ASUS A8V Delux (Motherboard) AGP version 3.0 transfer reate 8.0x
Dual 1025 MB DDR memory
Nvidia 6600 GT 128 MB

I'm looking for something at a reasonable price. Pref under $100, but if its worth paying a few extra bucks then I suppose I could. Do you think that a new graphics card would make a big difference with games. (Mainly games like Total war)

Also, I think that I have PCI-E, but I'm not 100% sure.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, so many thanks in advance.

Is it worth buying a new video card, or waiting for a new comp?

Well, I'm pretty sure I do have PCI-E capabilities, because its the ASUS Via K8T800Pro chipset series. In the manual it says Revised edition V2, and someone told me that mean it had PCI-E capabilities.

EDIT: Actually, I just researched it, and it appears as though I do have 1 PCI-E slot. So, that expands my options yes?

Also, could I still use my Nvidia 6600 GT if it is in a AGP slot and my new PCI-E card is in that slot, utilizing both of them?

How's this look?

you cant get mothebroards with both agp and pci e as far as im aware - and no the two crads wouldnt work together

I think you have seen this as PCI e slot - you need a PCI e x 16 slot

Hello!
Not sure but I dont think I see a PCI-E slot on the board
so I dont think it can do PCI-E but im not sure.
you would have to stick with AGP
Good luck!

That's an agp socket, the color tells it directly, brown for agp, black/blue for pci-e
