New video card suggestions

My geforce crapped out, so I'm looking to get something within the $100-200 range. I know my mobo, and cpu are outdated, but that will be upraded in the future.

I`m leaning towards going with ATI. I am looking at the Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 1GB.

Any suggestions

+1 for 5770, get one and overclock it! they do overclock pretty nice, most people can max it out in Catalyst (that would be 960mhz core and 1445mhz memory) howver mine only goes so far. (see sig)

+1 for 4890, -1 for 5770.

4890 outperforms the 5770. When DX11 becomes the norm, a 5770 will be outdated and not be able to take advantage of it very well, look at the 8 series cards now, will be the same thing. You are better off sticking with a DX10 card now (by which I mean the 4890) unless you can find the extra money to get a 5850 or wait for the gtx400 series, but that will cost a small fortune for one

5670 is not powerful enough for DX11. Probably go for 5770??

The 5770, its not even in the same league as the 4890. Its hard for me to believe the performance people will give up just for directX 11. The 5750/5770 has a hard time even keeping up with the 4850/4870.

I understand all these newbees run out and buy these 5750 and 5770 because they are new and directX 11 and draw less power, but dont make them out for something they are not just because you have one. ATI had to dry up the supply of 4850 and 4870 because as long as they were on the market they could not even sell the 5750 and 5770.
