New video card wanted!

I was wondering if you guys could help me choose a video card for my comp. I want to play intense games (F.E.A.R., COD2, Myst V etc.) with fairly high settings. Right now I have an x300se, which is alright for games like Farcry, but not so good for the newer games. What I would like is a high performer for a cheap as possible, since I dont have too much money to spend on my computer. TV out and PCI-E is a must. Thanks in advance.

i highly doubt those will play the new games on high-highest settings.

I would say something on the lines of a 6600GT or 6800 for nVidia, or x800 for ATI.

Heh you can't push to many frames with that card in FarCry.

a 6600 gt or gt oc for about $200 will perform very well.
that x800 is a good card, too.

fear is a very graphic demanding game, see if you can afford a 6800gt or a x850xtp both around more or less 300 dollars.

depending on your definition of cheap u can always get 2 6800 GTs with a SLI connector

6600 GT is probably the best bang for your buck - partly because I am not an ATI guy

Actually Farcry runs well on that card. High settings at 1074x768. Rarely dips below 30fps.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I was hoping to stay under the $200 mark. Theres a BFG GeForce OC 128MB PCI Express Video Card (6600GT) for $229 Canadian at futureshop. Is that a good price?
