new video card

for UNDER $150, i would have to say the hd5770 best at that range for it's performance WITH dx11

however the older hd4870 is w/o a doubt the more powerful of the two, and any other card below $150 but doesn't have dx11, and uses more energy.

Such an obsession with the 5770, but it's good though.
Seems like other cards get forgotten, lol

You won't be able to run much with that PC. New games are getting more multi-threaded, So two cores will slow you down. Plus, you are restricted to how many watts your PSU produces, and how big of a card you can put in. I doubt you could go any better than a HD 5570. MAYBE a 5670.

You're forgetting how much wattage you need for that card. I believe you need a 450 watt PSU for that.

If I am not mistaken, the computer model he has only has a 220 watt PSU.

I know for a fact a 5450 can run with less than 220 watts.

You listed a 5570 and a 5670....

Additionally, the 5450's recommended PSU wattage is 400 watts (taken from AMD's website). Sure, it will run on a 220 watt PSU. Good luck putting stress on it.

I'll need to buy a case
Btw I have a new limit 375$
Keep in mind I need a new case too and video card so and suggestions on what I should do like on what to add?

You know, If I were you I'd spend a good $125 on a psu and case, along with a graphics card. If the case you buy has a PSU in it, DON'T USE IT, PLEASE!

I'm not very good at choosing power supplies but look at these parts:

Antec 300
XFX PSU
HIS 5770

That Equals $299.97 after the MIR on the PSU and without shipping.

Since he has a AM3 Processor, If he ever wants too he can buy an Athlon II X4 640, and throw that in instead. I would think a 5770 would be a little over kill for his CPU.

Ive been thinking and have set my mind for a budget of 500$ since my PC is crap
So If anyone can link me to the items I would need to run PC Games well.

So thanks for everyone's support, and thanks in advance

So new budget 500$, maybe 600$

I'm gonna mark this so I can read it later.
But take a look at this, Some people put this together for me a few months ago, and I've had it saved to my wishlists since.

You could get the price down by using a cheaper HD 5770, a Cheaper motherboard (ask people) and a cheaper case. keep your eye on that Antec 300 I posted, It is a fairly nice case IMHO.
