new videocard.. so naturally there's a problem

just picked up a GIGA-BYTE GEFORCE 9800 512MB PCIE (gigabyte gv-n98tgr-5121) for my Dell Dimension E510.

the video stutters.. even the mouse movement is glitchy. and.. it causes my hdmi tv's speakers to crackle.

from the research i've done, there's nowhere to plug this SPDIF cable into on this dell motherboard (which i assume would fix the audio issue). i've got an external soundcard and speakers anyway, so i get sound but i'm worried that it's causing damage to the tv?

and what's with the video lag? i can't watch anything without being annoyed.. so now what do i do? sell the videocard/get another, and burn the dell?

Please post full system specs including power supply unit. My guess is you have an underpowered PSU.

Gotta start with the easy stuff. You can never assume somebody has already taken a step. I'd also suspect the power supply if it's stock. The card may be starving for power, which would explain the poor performance.
