New Wireless Keyboard and Mouse

I brought a new keyboard and mouse today and they are wireless. Its my first time using wireless. I have been told that people nearby can steal the wireless connection is this true?

Um... what? Many things run on 2.4GHz and I assume that's what's being referred to. It is possible for wireless devices to interfere and all. The manuals should state this, along with any manual for say a 2.4GHz cordless phone, wifi device, bluetooth device and even non-2.4GHz devices such as cellphones. However, most run on different channels/frequencies(2.44345 and such) so there's really no interference to be noticed.
