New Wireless Router

I am looking to buy a new wireless router, but i need one where the computer can still have a high download speed at longdistance. I have 2 laptops and a computer. This is one i have been looking at

I will get another pc card for one of my laptops. But the question is will my other laptop stilll be able to work with its normal internal wireless. That laptop would be used at close range to the router. (not close enough to have a ethernet cable)

Please help me out

that router should do you fine (but are you actually going to be using it as a modem?), but a USB wireless network adaptor isnt really the option, if possible for the laptop buy a card (cant remmeber slot name rofl).
and the other laptops wireless should be fine, i run mine off the internal Intel Wireless card, its really good, especially if you use Intel PROset/Wireless with it :D

what is the distance we are talking about here? normal wireless routers (without a repeater) can reach about 30m indoors... should be pleanty of course.
but a few tips:
  • keep the router in a good, high place
  • keep it away from Microwaves / cordless phones etc...
  • put it in a place where it wont have to go through many doors/walls

Yes what is the long distance ?
Is this going to be outside. ?
no matter what router tou get you are going to have about a 30mW signal.

there are also 1-3 watt and higher amplifiers .

darn those amplifiers are like 300 a pop and i dont think the persons on a cia budget but i think i want one lol or maybe just hi gain antenna's ??
