new work rig idea

i want a computer for your average word/powerpoint/photo shop and some gaming but nothing too intense and i want to spend around $1100

Well RAM is much faster than your hard drive so chances are you computer would be 'faster' with 2 gigs of so-so RAM as compared to 1 gig of good RAM, but in the future your ability to upgrade in a cost effective manner will be hindered.

Also if you want to only use it for what you listed an E6300 would be more than adequate,and more cost effectrive, you could buy a better mobo and make sure your board supports ddr2, ddr is getting outdated...
 
what mobo would you suggest?
I think i will switch to the 6300 so it needs to support that and i want a small comp but i want it powerful so the case only supports a 9.6" by 9.6"
