you mean it needs a gold account? otherwise the silver is free so why not get it?
 
Nah, all the apps including the video service ones require a gold account. That's why they had so much trouble landing a deal with BBC who has a policy of being freely available.

Just stupid really,I mean i can understand some apps but Youtube...its a free service anyway.:cool:
 
I find this new dashboard completely confusing. Seriously, the W8DP is easier to use, and doesn't get me lost on my way to play COD4.
 
I dont like how you cant arrange your own tiles. I wish i could take my Uverse and my video stuff and put it on the front rather than all the advertising crap M$ has on there now.
 
well i don't mess with all that stuff, i just play my game or look for new demos, so the new dashboard doesn't really matter to me other than i like the look a little more i guess.

I dont use the 360 all that often,Infact i sold all my games but i hung on to the console as they are hardly worth anything used,and expensive to post as its heavy.

Time for my 2 cents :D!

First off, I hate the update. It looks like their stupid windows phone.

But I do have to admit, Its a lot easier to navigate in my opinion. (Wolfeking). Everything is clearly labeled and visible and simple to find.

However, while they got navigation right, they got everything else wrong. Non removable video ads with sound? Bing search? (With a stupid single line keyboard I might add.) And a whole host of other annoyances.

But we can only hope that with time, they'll iron out the wrinkles. And then when they're done with that, they'll fix the Xbox Dashboard.

Fwiw the controller keyboard is like $10 more than the xbox headset and comes with one as well. You can also type via usb keyboard on the xbox.

Or microsoft could just design a good virtual keyboard in the first place. Its not hard. (Self promotion +1)

I'm just saying if you just put down 300$ for a console and some games, you don't want to put down another [strike]40$[/strike] 65$ for a keyboard.

A digital qwerty keyboard always comes up for me. :confused:

Plus you can search by voice via Kinect now.


I don't get how the dashboard is confusing to anyone now, it's far more simple with less ads and crap thrown in.
 
Yeah I like the voice navigation, it's kind of neat. They added voice support for Halo CE, for some reason commands like reload and grenade don't work, but it's neat and hopefully they add more features for games like this in the future.

The one thing I've found with it is that you need to be very clear in what you're saying and the Kinect needs to be behind whatever audio source you're using.
 
the only thing i've found is the want to sell the darn thing. anybody interested in a like new kinect with the game it comes with and kinect sports or whatever?
