Newb hard drive exchange

I have a dell laptop that is about 7 years old and it finally bit the dust. I believe the hard drive is still good. The hard drive has a lot of information on it I need. If I buy a new laptop that has a connection for a second hard drive, could I remove the hard drive from my old computer and install it in the new computer as a second hard drive to gain access to that information I need? The old laptop was running windows 10 (I hate windows 10)

If it has a second bay, sure.

Otherwise you can put it in a desktop or external enclosure and it should show up as a normal NTFS volume.

Yea, the enclosure route wouldn't be a bad option. They go for like $10-$20 at most for a decent one.
