Hey, I have been out of the loop the last year and a half with all this all this tech stuff and it's time for an upgrade. My current system is an old Abit 3-max 478 P4 @ 2.4 GHz, 1GB ddr 400, ATI 1950x pro (AGP,).
I want to upgrade but have very little money, I found a motherboard that supports some of the newer CPUs and has PCI-e 4x for around $60 (and yes I know this is not the best board but I can't afford a new video card and RAM)

and this processor

Ok my main question is 1, I read that some people are using there old ddr 400 RAM with the new CPUs, can I use my old 1gb ddr 400 (3200) with this new set up? or do I need to get ddr2 667 ?
I want to get the faster RAM but right now I just can't do it,
Thanks for any help.
