Hey guys, I'm a newbie in need of some serious help. I'm a Mac user, and it's not working, but that's a whole different story.

Right now my other computer, a Compaq Presario SR1103mw, got a virus, we reformatted the hard drive and dl a version of Windows XP home edition and now my sound doesn't work. I was told o need to dl drivers?? I dont know much bout computers, but need to find my driver, or whatever, and get my sound working. Anyone wanna walk me through this lovely process???

if you have integrated, you should be able to find them on the motherboard manufacturer's website, if you have a dedicated sound card, it'll be on that company's website, if you don't know what you have, use something like sisoft sandra (I think thta will do it) to tell you what your sound is, Windows might tell you but I dunno if not having the drivers will make that not show up

find out what soundcard/integrated sound you have. Google it and go to its website. Download the appropriate drivers. Install drivers. Reboot.

Go to hp/compaq website. Type in your computer model and then support and drivers. You may be able to download them.
